NY Gov. Hochul enjoys big lead over likely opponents, poll shows

ALBANY, N.Y. — Gov. Kathy Hochul is the “early frontrunner” among Democrats likely seeking to unseat her next year, according to a new Marist poll released Tuesday. The survey found that Hochul, in office for less than two months after replacing disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, has broad support among most New Yorkers and would come out on top in a hypothetical Democratic primary in 2022 — even if her predecessor jumped in the race.
