Murphy’s chance at winning re-election drops slightly but still strong, new poll shows

Gov. Phil Murphy is still in a good position to win in November’s election, but a new poll released Wednesday shows the race between the Democrat and Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli has tightened slightly. The governor has a 13-percentage-point lead, 51% to Ciattarelli’s 38%, according to the Monmouth University Poll. For Murphy, that’s a 3-percentage-point drop from a similar Monmouth poll from a month ago.
