German coalition talks back on Monday; centre-right keeps doors open

The three-way talks that could lead to Germany’s next governing coalition are set to continue on Monday, negotiators said after “good talks” on Thursday. Lars Klingbeil, general secretary of the centre-left Social Democrats (SPD), said the plan was to continue and deepen the talks with the Greens and the pro-business Free Democrats (FDP). The weekend will be used to “prepare for an intense week of talks,” he said.
